Enhancing Yacht Performance: Precision Installation of I-Brackets and Powertrain Alignment

Our latest project involved the installation of new I-brackets, coupled with comprehensive alignment and powertrain integration. I-Bracket Installation and Initial Alignment

We began by carefully installing the new I-brackets, ensuring their secure positioning on the hull. Utilizing our advanced alignment equipment, we meticulously aligned the brackets with the shaft seal, setting the foundation for flawless drivetrain integration.

Shaft and Thrust Bearing Installation

Next, we installed the new shafts onto the thrust bearings, paying close attention to precision and balance. This critical step ensures optimal force distribution and minimizes vibration during operation.

Engine Placement and Preliminary Alignment

With the shafts in place, we proceeded to install the new engines in their designated positions within the engine room. Using our specialized alignment tools, we achieved precise alignment between the engine flanges and the shaft flanges. Once aligned, we marked the exact positioning of the engines for further adjustments.

Creating New Mounting Points

After marking the engine positions, we temporarily removed the engines from the engine room. Using specialized equipment, we drilled new mounting holes and created precise M20 threads to accommodate the engine bolts. This step ensured the stability and integrity of the engine mounts, crucial for long-term performance.

Final Engine Installation and Alignment

We then reinstalled the engines in their final positions and began the critical process of final alignment. Adjustments were made to achieve perfect alignment between the engines, shaft, and propeller flange, reducing wear and ensuring smooth operation. Once the alignment was confirmed, all bolts were tightened to the manufacturer's specified torque values, guaranteeing secure and reliable installation.

Propeller and Driveshaft Connection

To complete the project, we mounted the propellers onto the shafts and secured the driveshaft connections to the engines. Each component was carefully inspected and tested to ensure optimal performance and safety.
